Do you know your risk factors for vascular disease?
Vascular disease refers to a variety of conditions and diseases that affect your blood vessels, including your arteries and veins. To get proper treatment for these specific disease types, it’s important to know your risks.
The most common risk factors for developing vascular diseases, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), are listed below. Check all that apply to you.

I am a man.
I have a family history of vascular disease such as deep vein thrombosis or peripheral artery disease.
I have diabetes.
I am overweight.
I am physically inactive.
I have high blood pressure.
I have high cholesterol.
I have been diagnosed with heart disease.
I have high levels of stress.
I have a previous history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism.
I have a medical condition – such as cancer, blood disorders, trauma or surgery – that affects my body’s ability to form blood clots.
I have experienced a long period of time when my movement was restricted, like bed rest.
I have suffered an injury to a vein.
I have been treated with hormone therapy.
I am taking oral contraceptives or birth control.
I am pregnant.
